The depths of water hold infinite possibilities, just like your spirit holds infinite potential.

Christian Muller

Creator & Visionary of Way Of Water

Christian was certified in Massage Therapy and Structural Integration in the early 90’s. As he continued to train and deepen into the profound impact of bodywork, Christian discovered the true healing power of working in water.

In 1996, Christian was certified in Watsu Aquatic Therapy on the Big Island of Hawaii and took further aquatic therapy training in Water Dance, a unique underwater technique. The combination of Aquatic Therapy above and below the water surface guides one through various movements, holds, and stretches for deep relaxation and physical renewal.

To gain a deeper understanding of psycho-somatic healing, Christian continued to widen his studies within Hakomi Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. He worked over two years doing aquatic therapy at a collaborative chronic pain clinic in Boulder, Colorado, run by a medical doctor. Although the work in the water is largely silent and wordless, Christian has developed the skills to provide a trauma-informed, psycho-spiritual container. By giving Aquatic Therapy sessions to numerous private clients for thirty years, Christian has learned his own blend of techniques that make Aquatic Therapy and Movement a profoundly healing method.

Since spending the first nine months of my life surrounded by warm water in the womb, my whole life on land has revolved around water. Water is the central element in my life, informing my profession, hobbies, and spiritual path.

Christian’s primary business for about fourty years in Boulder, Colorado was as a Garden Designer/Installer and later focusing on creating public spaces with Sculpture and Public Art. His primary medium was stone and masonry, but water was a frequent elemental theme, including water features, pools, and fountains.

Recently, Christian has retired from his public art projects and is primarily focused on providing immersive healing experiences for people using Aquatic Therapy and Movement. He is passionately devoted to helping others experience the life renewing properties of healing in water.

Vanessa Wawrzynowicz

Co-creator and Facilitator for Way of Water

Vanessa has been involved in the healing arts as a Massage Therapist and Art Therapist in Boulder, Colorado for twenty years. She recently became certified in Watsu Aquatic Therapy after moving to Ridgway, Colorado with her husband Christian in 2023 and is working as an Aquatic Bodywork Therapist at Orvis Hot Springs and Ouray Hot Springs. She also works as a Hypnosis Coach giving sessions online as well as in person.

For years, Vanessa has helped people create lasting change from the inside out—guiding guests through hypnosis to release patterns, calm the mind, and step into a more aligned version of themselves.

But along the way, she noticed something important: You can shift the mind, but the body still holds the story.

"Today, I blend my background in transformational hypnosis with the powerful, restorative practice of Watsu—creating a space where both the mind and the body can finally let go."

Watsu, or Water Shiatsu, is a gentle, flowing form of aquatic therapy performed in warm mineral waters. During a session, you are fully supported—cradled and guided through soft stretches, rhythmic movement, and moments of stillness.
