Mountain Mermaid

I watched the annual Telluride Mushroom Festival parade and walked toward the San Miguel River before going to the drum circle at the Town Park. To my delight, there was a beautiful “Mountain Mermaid” cooling off in the river. Although most of the costumes were dedicated to some mushroom theme, this lovely lady went full mermaid costume. When I asked why, she told me that there are some mushrooms that grow out of the water and she wanted to honor the water by wearing her mermaid costume. Of course, I totally understood her desire, being a Merman myself!
